Native of Alicante (Spain), Rafael Blanco is a contemporary artist focusing on identity and human expression as a main focus in his creative work. Trained as a classical painter, he has been since 2014 combining his studio practice with public art (large scale murals). He has painted murals across the country and exhibited internationally. After receiving his MFA in Painting & Drawing from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2013, he worked as the Art Program Coordinator at Feather River College until 2019. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at Elmhurst University in the Chicago area, where he teaches Drawing, Painting, and Art History.
